Boko Haram militants have entered Mubi in Adamawa State,
taking over the headquarters of the 234 battalion in the town, which is one of
the State’s largest. The action comes just months after they took Michika and
several of Adamawa’s other important towns, according to Sharareporters.
Residents revealed that the
militants arrived around noon after successfully attacking neighboring towns in
an overwhelming attack that began last night.
Nigerian troops guarding the barracks initially exchanged
fire with the militants but fled after more militants arrived in the area with
heavy firepower.
