21-year-old Super Eagles’ player, Michael Babatunde, who
broke his arm, when he unintentionally blocked Onazi’s shot during the final
Group F match against Argentina on Wednesday June 25, 2014, will undergo arm
surgery to return back in form. "I think he’s got a broken hand and he’s going
for surgery right now as we speak," Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi said.
"So I’m not sure if he’s still going to participate in this
World Cup. But we’ll see how he goes. But it’s not good." Babatunde, who plays
for Ukrainian team Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih, was a surprise pick for the national
team.
He was named in the side ahead of Chelsea striker Victor
Moses.
