A thirteen year-old daughter of popular Anambra pastor, was raped and impregnated by a police sergeant, who ordered her at gun point and had carnal knowledge of her. The sergeant, who has been apprehended initially denied the allegation
and was supported by the DPO Nnewi South, Ndidiamaka Oguamalam which made the
victim’s parent to write a petition to the Human Rights group and the
Commissioner of Police.
It was gathered that the young girl, who is now pregnant alleged that the police man ordered her not to tell anybody or
be killed. A situation that made her to keep the ugly ordeal to herself, until she missed her
monthly period. She complained to her mother, who after thorough probe forced her to confess..
Suddenly the Police man accepted to be responsible and agreed to take care of the girl till she delivers by giving the family N20,000 monthly, but the father a Pastor was demanding N300,000 at once to enable them take care of the girl till delivery.
PPRO, DSP Emeka Chukwuemeka confirmed the
command got such report but said investigations are ongoing to determine the
level of culpability of the said officer.
Meanwhile, this has become season of nightmares for Nigerians, over heralding
reports of police dehumanizing those whom they are suppose to protect.
