On Friday in Abia State a global evangelist, Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai, was laid to rest. The late preacher was given a State burial in Umuahia, the state Capital. 

Hailed from Asaga Ohafia, Ukpai was the founder and president of Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association (UUEA).  Ukpai died on 6 October 2025, at the age of 80. Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, Peter Obi, and other top dignitaries headlined the burial.
