SUNU Nigeria, comprising SUNU Assurances Nigeria Plc and SUNU Health Nigeria Limited, has announced the launch of its second annual Pink October 2.0 initiative, significantly expanding its commitment to women’s health by offering free breast cancer screenings (mammograms/clinical breast exams) to 150 women in Nigeria.
This year’s effort marks a major increase in impact, extending the screening benefit from 100 beneficiaries last year to 150 women, representing a 50% increase in reach. The screening will take place over a week, running from Monday, October 27th, to Sunday, November 2nd, 2025, at Diamed Medical Centre, Lagos Nigeria.
“SUNU Nigeria is pushing this initiative for the second year because we want to ensure more people benefit and help them stay ahead of their health. Early detection is critical, and we are proud to use our ability to make vital health services accessible to more women.” Stated Mrs. Japari Yusuf, Head of Corporate Services.
The initiative is a cornerstone of SUNU Nigeria’s commitment to corporate social responsibility, aiming to empower beneficiaries by enabling the early detection of possible breast cancer, thereby facilitating timely treatment and improving health outcomes.
“As a provider of both insurance and healthcare services, our mission extends beyond policies and premiums. This ‘Pink October 2.0’ campaign is a clear demonstration of our long-term commitment to the communities we serve. We are deeply interested in providing comprehensive wellness and insurance services that empower Nigerians to live healthier and more secure lives.” Maintained Mr. Samuel Olayemi, Brand & Corporate Communications Officer.
SUNU Nigeria, a member of the SUNU Group with a strong presence across 17 African countries, believes that sustained action is crucial to making a lasting difference in the fight against breast cancer.
