The Kano State Police Command is pleased to announce the arrest of two suspected motor vehicle thieves and the recovery of a stolen Toyota Corolla. On October 13, 2025, at about 11:25 am, operatives of the Command's Special Intervention Squad (SIS) apprehended Michael Jatau, 39, and Haruna Aliyu Muhammad, 21, in possession of a suspected stolen vehicle, a 2012 Toyota Corolla, dark ash in color with registration number KRD-13-FW.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects snatched the vehicle in Abuja and brought it to Kano with the intent to sell it. The suspects have confessed to the crime and will be charged to court upon completion of the investigation.
The State Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, commended the officers involved in this operation for their diligence. He also appreciated the public for their cooperation, particularly with the Command's community-based crime-fighting model, "Operation Kukan Kura," which has been yielding positive results.
