In line with its core mandate of protection of life and property, the Kano State Police Command, under the leadership of CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, intervened in the ongoing dispute between Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital and Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) regarding the disconnection of power supply, because of its security implications.

The meeting, which was held at the Office of the Commissioner of Police, Bompai Police Headquarters Kano, brought together the entourage of Chief Medical Director of Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, Prof. A. Abba Sheshe, and the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of KEDCO, Dr Abubakar Shuaibu Jimeta .The discussions were aimed at finding an amicable solution to the crisis, which had reportedly affected critical medical services at the hospital, leading to unfortunate consequences.

After a productive meeting, both parties expressed their gratitude to the Commissioner of Police for his intervention. Following deliberations, the MD/CEO of KEDCO made arrangements for the immediate restoration of electricity supply to the hospital during the meeting, underscoring the commitment to resolving the issue.

The successful intervention highlights the Police Command's dedication to protecting lives and property and ensuring that critical institutions such as hospitals continue to function without interruption.

The Kano State Police Command commends both parties for their cooperation and willingness to resolve the issue amicably and assures continued support in maintaining peace and stability.
