In line with the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, to all Police Commands and Formations to intensify robust intelligence-led and community-centric policing initiatives, the Kano State Police Command, under the leadership of CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, has recorded a significant breakthrough in its fight against the trafficking and distribution of illicit drugs. Thanks to the dedication of the Officers and Men of the Command, and the unwavering support of the good people of Kano State.

On 20th September 2025, at about 1300hrs, credible information was received by the police that in the Rimin Auzinawa Quarters Kano there was a suspicious vehicle carrying cartons suspected to contain intoxicants. Acting promptly on the report, a team of policemen, on the direction of the Command CP, trailed the vehicle to the quarters. Upon arrival, the team cordoned off the house where the vehicle was parked and successfully arrested one Usman Umar (m), 19 years old, a resident of the house.

A thorough search of the premises led to the recovery of the following exhibits:

- 603 packets of suspected Tramadol tablets, containing 60,300 pieces, valued at N60,300,000.

- Two hundred and ninety-nine (299) packets of suspected Pregabalin capsules, consisting of 44,850 pieces, valued at N22,425,000.

The total estimated value of the intercepted intoxicants stands at N82,725,000.

This successful operation highlights the Command’s commitment to eradicating the menace of drug abuse and trafficking in Kano State. The suspect is currently helping investigation to uncover the network behind this illegal trade and bring all culprits to justice.
