The Lagos State Government has postponed the earlier announced palliative maintenance on the Third Mainland Brigde due to heavy downpour on Saturday.

The maintenance work, which was on the damaged sections of the 3rd Mainland Bridge, was scheduled for Sunday, September  17 and Sunday, September 24.

This statement was made by the Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi via X(formerly Twitter) on Saturday.

He said: "The rain has affected the preliminaries of the planned palliative works on the asphalt pavement of the bridge by the Lagos State Public Works Corporation".

Osiyemi assured that another date will be scheduled and duly communicated but those dates will be subject to weather conditions.

“Assuring that a later date which will be subject to weather conditions will be duly communicated for the palliative works, the Transport Commissioner urged Motorists to continue to access the bridge with observance of safety measures.”
