Shehu Shagari College of Education in Sokoto State has been shut down by the school management, after a female student's death. 

The student who was not named was reportedly beaten and burnt to death for religious blasphemy. 

The crisis led to the closing of the school indefinitely.

The announcement to close the school was contained in a statement by the management.
