The Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde has released the sum of N1.5 billion to the state’s Ministry of Health as part of his efforts to ensure that the residents of the state have access to good health care.

The state Commissioner for Health, Dr. Bashir Bello, disclosed this on Wednesday while declaring open the Health Financing Technical Working Group Workshop on Health Care Financing Policy in Oyo state.

Dr Bello also hinted that the Oyo state government has plans to subsidized secondary health care in the state.

Meanwhile, the commissioner noted that the Oyo state government will, at the end of the two-day Health Roadmap workshop, adopt and implement the resolution of the strategies designed at the forum to further ensure better health care services to residents of the state.
