Amuwo-Odofin local government area in Lagos state is among the eighteen LGA’s in Nigeria that is at risk of being on strict Lockdown.

The federal government is said to be seriously considering a total lockdown of these LGAs which amount to about 60% of COVID19 confirmed cases in Nigeria.

The list of LGA’s that might be affected was collated from the June 2nd Report by the NCDC of local government areas with higest cases in Nigeria of which Amuwo-odofin LGA was among. According to data earlier released by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, 11 out of the 20 local government areas that account for 60 per cent of the cases are in Lagos State.

Other LGAs in Lagos that might be affected are Lagos Mainland, Mushin, Eti-Osa,Alimosho,Kosofe,Ikeja, Oshodi/Isolo, Apapa and Surulere. In other state across the federation, Abuja Municipal Area Council in Abuja, Oredo LGA in Edo State,Ado Odo/Ota in Ogun. Whilst in the northern area of Nigeria, Bauchi in Bauchi, Dutse in Jigawa, Maiduguri in Borno,Nassarawa and Tarauni Local Government Area in Kano State and Kastina in Kastina.
