Rapper, Ruggedman has urged motorists in Lagos to stop paying LASTMA officers, when they mistakenly fail traffic rules and get arrested.
He said people should request for tickets and pay their fine direct to the bank, as it is illegal on both sides to pay to LASTMA officers.
Ruggedman disclosed on social media that an offence motorists might view as being huge, might not be more than community service sometimes.
"PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT!
If LASTMA arrests you. If you accept the charge, you ought to request for the ticket to pay fine(s) directly to the bank.
DO NOT PAY MONEY TO THE OFFICERS. IT IS ILEGAL ON BOTH SIDES. Sometimes U might not even get more than community service," he wrote.
