Gunmen stormed the Uvwiamuge axis of Ughelli/Agbarho Highway in Delta State, on Monday night, kidnap ne person, while many others ran for safety.
The gunmen according to eyewitnesses laid siege to the highway, shooting sporadically into the air.
The attack lasted for about 30 minutes with travelers and residents of the area scampering to safety.
The armed men were reported to have launched the attack from a nearby bush.
Commissioner of Police in the state, Adeyinka Adeleke confirmed the incident to Channels Television reassuring that the police is doing everything possible to rescue the yet to be identified victim of the kidnap.
