According to Sri Chinmony, "death is not the
end...death is the road, life is the traveller. The soul is the guide"
It is on the basis of the above that the Okpaleke family of
Amesi in Aguata local government area of Anambra state announces the passing
unto glory of their matriarch, Monica Nwadima Okpaleke (Dibundo) at the ripe
age of 83.
At 83, the Okpalekes say they thank God for the salutary
live their mother lived, having exceeded the Biblical age.
According to the family, the transition from immortality to
mortality of their matriarch is an inevitable end that awaits every being, thus
giving Filip to John Dryden's famous lines: "All human things are subject
to decay and when death summons, monarchs must obey".
During her life time, the late Monica was a devout Christian
who dedicated her time championing the cause of women, children and the
downtrodden in Amesi.
A progrmme of events for her funeral as released by the family
shows that the late Mrs Okpaleke's rite
of passage begins with a wake keep on Wednesday 21st 2019 at her late husband,
Festus Onuwurah Okpaleke's compound at Amesi.
On Thursday, August 22, at 10am, Requiem mass holds in her
honour at St.Joseph Catholic Church, Amesi.Interment at her compound follows
immediately.
Thanksgiving mass comes up on Sunday, August 24 at
St.Joseph's Catholic, Amesi.
The late Mrs Okpaleke is survived by children, grand
children and great grand children including Mr Gabriel and Mr Oguchi Okpaleke,
