The Nigerian Army has discredited reports of an attack by
Boko Haram terrorists in Pulka, a village in Borno State. There have been media
reports that Boko Haram terrorists attacked Pulka and abducted 22 women,
attributing it to an unidentified Bulama as source.
According to a release signed by Director Army Public
Relations, Brigadier General Sani Usman, the report is false
"We wish state that the report is completely false and
should be ignored," Usman wrote
"For the avoidance of doubt, Pulka and its environs is
heavily fortified and there has not been any security breach in the area. Media
houses are please requested to always cross check their facts before publishing
or broadcasting."
Pulka was one of the towns in Gwoza local government, Borno
State, recaptured in 2015.
