A 14-year-old girl has been shot on the head by two
16-year-old boys, who she has been annoying with Snapchat messages. Two boys
are accused of attempted murder, aggravated robbery and obstructing
justice for attacking Deserae Turner.
Turner considered the unnamed boys, her friends and
was in utter disbelief when she woke up in the hospital to learn they had shot
her in the head and left her in a dirty canal in Smithfield, Utah, according to
Salt Lake Tribune.
Cache County Sheriff Deputy Brian Groves said in court Tuesday one of the boys complained to the other defendant about Turner texting and Snapchatting him too frequently.
The defendant responded: 'It would be pretty easy to get rid
of her.'
After the premeditated shooting on February 16, the boys
stole her backpack with her cellphone and iPod.
A hearing is set for May 8 which will determine if the 16-year-olds will be tried as adults or children.
