Two children on their way to school on Friday morning have
been swept away as flood hits Lilongwe, Malawi. Overnight heavy downpours
caused the Lilongwe River to burst its banks.
Rescue operation has been in progress at Mtandile.
A helicopter has been rescuing people. Lilongwe police
spokesperson Kingsley Dandaula told the Times it managed to get to two boys who
were trapped in the middle of a submerged maize field.
