On Monday, a 46-year-old man, identified as Tyonongu and his younger brother were killed in an ambush on Monday morning near Chakumi village in Abaji Area Council of the FCT.  The ugly incident happened at about 8 o’clock in the morning when the two of them were riding a motorcycle from Dogon-Ruwa to Abaji.

The elder  Tyonongu, a wealthy Tiv farmer at the community, was attacked with his younger brother by yet to be identified persons with machetes. 

According to him, the killers laid ambush for the two and first shot at them with guns and when they fell off the motorcycle, they finished them off with machete cuts, Daily Trust reports.

He said the remains of the two deceased were later deposited in the mortuary at Suleja  hospital. 

It will be recalled that the deceased, Tyonongu, had a misunderstanding with his Tiv kinsmen early January this year in which 12 of his vehicles and thousands of yam tubers were burnt at Dogon-Ruwa community of the council.
