Hausa musician, Ado Dahiru Daukaka, who was reported missing after releasing a song criticizing local politicians for corruption has been found. He went missing on Friday in the State capital, Yola, shortly after leaving his home to pray at a mosque.


SaharaReporters reached out to Adamawa State Police Command spokesperson Othman Abubakar, who confirmed that Mr. Daukaka was kidnapped but has since been rescued.

According to him, Mr. Daukaka was found in Lamurde Local Government Area at 1:30 PM on Wednesday. He is currently in the custody of the police and is uninjured. He said the musician will soon be reunited with his family at the police headquarters in Yola.

While the cause for his abduction has not been confirmed, Mr. Daukaka’s family members believe his controversial song led to his abduction.
