The Kaduna State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has disclosed that the state government has remitted the sum of 20 million to the 331 remaining victims of the 2011 post-election violence  in Hajj Transit Camp Mando. The victims got between 55,000 to 60,000 naira each. All the IDPs agreed to leave the cmp upon receipt of the cash donation.

The beneficiaries of the government gesture which include 126 males, 128 females and 77 youth groups received the cash assistance in an exercise carried out by the committee setup to look into the affairs of the IDPs.

What was given to the IDPs was not compensation, but rather a form of support on the part of the state government, while commending the efforts of leaders of the IDPs for effective coordination of the members.
