People who are following positive developments in Nigerian film industry, Nollywood nursed the feelings that by first week of last month April, the Federal government alongside Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala would have at the least launch the N3billion fund and duly approve few proposals that will enable film makers to have access to the fund, which President Goodluck Jonathan promised on March 2, 2013 when Nollywood @ 20 was celebrated.

However, the reverse seem to be the case as nothing tangible is being heard about the fund. Insider sources disclosed that these movie makers have engaged shameful battle against each other for the past four weeks, and this has led to various kinds of back-biting and smearing of characters, which in turn moved the Federal government to keep their promise to a standstill.

It was revealed that disgruntle elements from various guilds have gone as far as petitioning to the federal government alleging that few individuals in the industry have not only tagged the fund 'a grant', but also concluded plans on how to share the fund among themselves, while the greater number of movie practitioners who sincerely need funds for film making will not even have a glimpse of it.

These elements claimed that "it is better to leave the fund in the hands of federal government than allow such a whopping sum to fall into the hands of wrong people."
