The UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals towards a better world by 2030 wraps around a myriad of action areas, including Girls/Gender Development & Quality Education, areas 4 & 5.

Believing that Education is more than what is learned in school, Zuriel Oduwole then 13 years old, launched her basic “Film Making 101 Class” for 25 Girls in Namibia, back in February 2016. It was one of several initiatives over a 4 year period that got her honored by the US Secretary of State in January 2017 in Washington DC.

Now 15 years old, her film making program with the support of Sahara Group, has just completed across 3 ECOWAS countries of Ghana,Nigeria and Cote D’Ivoire.  While the classes in Nigeria and Ghana featured traditional and vocational School Girls aged between 15 and 19, the class in Abidjan – Cote D’Ivoire was delivered for women between the ages of 19 and 38 – most with social, economic, domestic, cultural and environmental challenges, who were looking for a second chance in life, and hopefully, participate in the New Digital Economy.
