Transcorp Power Positively Impacts Host Community



On the 13th of March 2017, Transcorp Power Limited commissioned a 115MW gas turbine to much fanfare. This commissioning is one of three milestones the GENCO intends to achieve in order to increase the power plants total generating capacity to 850MW. This by all standards is truly an impressive feat considering the fact that the plant had a total generating capacity of 160MW when it was acquired by Transcorp Power Limited, barely three years ago. As remarkable as the commissioning was to those at the event, the plants CSR initiatives and commitment to empowering those in the host communities that surround the Ughelli power plant managed to gain equal applause.

The Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF), an African founded and funded 21st century philanthropic organization committed to entrepreneurship development, ushers in an additional 1,000 African entrepreneurs. Applications were received from over 93,000 entrepreneurs across 55 African countries -  over 100% increase from 2016, and nearly quadruple of the 2015 application numbers.

NIPC seeks Posting of Corps Members with Specialised Skills

The Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC) has requested the posting of Corps members trained in some specialised skills to help in the achievement of its mandate.

The Executive Secretary of the Commission, Ms Yewande Sadiku made the request during a visit to the Director-General, Brigadier General Sulaiman Kazaure, at the National Directorate Headquarters, Abuja.
