A vehicle on Friday rammed into a group of hawkers, leaving two injured at a military check point on Abuja-Lokoja road. The driver of a Honda vehicle with registration number LKJ 32 AG driving from Lokoja axis, lost control of the vehicle and drove into the hawkers.

He said the driver, after hitting the hawkers, where they were selling wares to motorists, veered into the bush.

Subsequently, officials of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) took some of the injured to hospital.

The Abaji Unit Commander of the FRSC, Assistant Corps Commander (ACC) Olasupo Esuruoso, confirmed the incident. He said the two injured people were taken to Abaji General Hospital.

He attributed the accident to speed limit violation, loss of control and brake failure.
