One of the top business women in Nigeria who is channeling a portion of her resource into charitable causes, Hajia Habiba Abubakar, has been at loggerheads with Nollywood actor, James Ukechukwu Esomugha popularly known as Jim Iyke, for about 5 years now over N16 million purportedly collected by the actor as loan for a musical record deal, Untamed Records Limited that never saw the light of the day.

The Abuja-London based woman, Hajia Habiba finally got judgment in a case presided over by Hon. Justice A.A.I Banjoko in the Abuja Judicial Division held at 19th of October, 2017 with suit No FCT/HC/CV/511/2012. Hajia’s camp is awaiting the camp of Jim Iyke to furnish the court with details of his payment plans.

On one of Hajia’s friends’ Facebook page, “After dodging the court for years, finally Jim Iyke is found guilty because judgment has been given against him. I would rather say, to help or invest in people nowadays is scary. I took it upon myself to personally follow this case up! In my course of studying this case, I actually found out that Jim Iyke has been dodging this case with so many silly excuses for years but finally he can’t run anymore as he is found guilty and indebted to Madam Habiba Abubakar.”

Another friend of Hajia, in a reaction to the post, said, “Habiba Abubakar is a woman with good heart, who has helped so many Nigerians far and near even beyond Africa in general with her NGO (The Elderly And The Poor) program, irrespective of tribe, religion or political affiliations.”

Another friend said, “In all my findings, Jim Iyke took advantage of her kind gesture to defraud her of a whopping 16 million naira and thought he could scare her on Twitter by saying she is interested in him being a married woman. Jim is notoriously known for fighting with several other women like Habiba, Linda Ikeji etc.”
