A landlord, Paul Oparaugo and five children allegedly stabbed to death their tanant, Udochukwu Iwuoha, on Wednesday in Owerri, Imo State. Iwuoha, who hailed from Agbaja in the Nwangele area of the state, was to traditionally wed his fiancée on Friday (today).

After allegedly killing the artisan at No. 50 Onumonu Street, the family of seven reportedly fled the area. Neighbours were said to have vandalised their property.

The state Commissioner of Police, Chris Ezike, who confirmed the development said he had ordered that the case be transferred to the homicide section of the Criminal and Investigation and Intelligence  Department of the state police command.

Ezike said, "It is a case of a family feud. Some youths in the area wanted to take the law into their own hands, but we were able to calm the situation. The suspects are known; they are on the run, but they can’t run for too long."
