The police in Abuja has arrested three suspected robbers for allegedly snatching a car at gunpoint. The suspects were arrested at Unguwar Pasali in Kuje, after they snatched a Toyota Sienna bus from its owner, the command’s spokesman, DSP Anjuguri Manzah said.

He said police detectives from the Kuje division swung into action on receipt of a report that the robbers who were armed with two locally made pistols invaded a compound in the area last week Tuesday at about 8pm and robbed the occupants of the car.

He said the suspects also robbed some occupants of the house of undisclosed cash and mobile phones.

Manzah added that the police deployed technology to track down the suspects, whose names he gave as Saaor Liam, 37, of Konshisha local government of Benue State, Babangida Madaki, 30, of Mararaban Rido, Kaduna State and Michael Joseph, 25, of Lugbe, Abuja.

He said they were arrested at Pantaker in Kaduna while they were trying to sell the stolen vehicle, adding that exhibits recovered from them included a golden colour Toyota Sienna with registration number GGE 752DH and two Techno phones.

The statement said efforts have been intensified to arrest the fleeing armourer of the syndicate who is in possession of the two locally made pistols that were used for the operation.

He  said the suspects have been transferred to the command Criminal Investigation Department for investigation and prosecution.
