Tony Elumelu, has not only supported Sierra Leonean government, but he has also made a call for more financial help for the country in the aftermath of the mudslide, in which nearly 500 people died and more than 600 people are still missing. He recently visited the country with former President, Olusegun Obasanjo to condole with the government. He tweeted about his visit to the country and $500,000 donation he made. See his tweets below...

"I took a sobering trip to #freetown Sierra Leone today following the recent flooding & mudslides #freetownfloods. I visited survivors at the Connaught Hospital with Pres Bai Koroma & former Pres Obasanjo. One of the survivors narrated how she lost her two kids. Other lost all their livelihood.

"I was deeply moved by what I witnessed today and have therefore donated $500,000 towards the rehabilitation & recovery efforts #freetown

"Under 3yrs ago during the Ebola outbreak @ubagroup & @tonyelumelufdn were among the 1st to support S/Leone & the other 2 affected countries.

"And we will not at this time of dire need, leave our brothers & sisters in Sierra Leone behind. I call on others with the wherewithal to also support the #freetownfloods recovery efforts.

"I also call the attention of the global community to the humanitarian disaster that has happened in Sierra Leone. All lives whether on the African continent or elsewhere are the same and shd attract the same media attention & human sympathy. Sierra Leone and its people need our support at this time."
