Over time, actresses in Nigeria’s film industry called, Nollywood usually try their hands in other businesses aside acting. In this special report, Julia Blaise Blog (JBB), has listed actresses, who recently have gradually become entrepreneurs in other fields outside the entertainment industry.


Nuella Njubigbo:

Actress cum scriptwriter, Nuella Njubigbo-Chikere is one of the newest screen personalities, who floated a fashion company, Nuella Afrik. It is an Ankara inspired fashion line that deals on collection of clothes, handbags, shoes and accessories made in African prints.

Iyabo Ojo:

Actress, producer, Iyabo Oyo joined the clique of entrepreneurs, when she opened a beauty parlor in Ikeja area of Lagos state, called, Fepris World in 2013. As if that was not enough, she opened a branch of the same beauty shop months later.

Dayo Amusa:

Dayo Amusa, the star and producer of Unforgiving is one of the top entrepreneurs in Nigerian film industry. She opened her school called, PayDab School and Creche in Ibadan, Oyo State in 2013, but started operation in January 2014.

Chika Ike:

Actress cum Reality TV Show producer, Chika Ike is no doubt a real businesswoman. According to sources, the soft spoken actress has been into real estate business for a long time as a building developer.  However, she took the business to new level in 2017, when she announced it on social media. Aside real estate business, Ms. Ike also has a beauty shop.

Bukky Wright:

Veteran actress, Bukky Wright delved into fashion business many years ago. Infact, she was one of the first Nollywood women to step into other businesses.  She has a huge store where unisex outfits and accessories are retailed. Shirts, Ties, Pocket squares, Cufflinks Boxes and so on. Apart from that, she also has a shop called Wright Affairs, which is meant for selling of Shoes, Bags and different kinds of fashion accessories.

Rita Dominic:

Actress, producer of the award winning movie entitled, ‘The Meeting’, Rita Dominic in 2016 spread her tentacles to fashion business. She launched her signature hairline by BK Unique Hair in Victoria Island, Lagos State.

Kate Henshaw:

In a slow and steady process, veteran Nollywood actress, Kate Henshaw carved niche for herself in the world of business by first becoming a fitness expert and opening a gym house.

Oge Okoye:

Actress, Oge Okoye joined her colleagues who are entrepreneurs in 2014, when she launched her Makeup Studio and Makeup line, Crystal Glam in Lagos State.

Ebube Nwagbo:

Ebube Nwagbo is one of the foremost actresses, who delved into hair business. Ms. Nwagbo took the lead in 2010 and launched her hair business, Posh Hair. Since then, Posh Hair has grown from strength to strength, supporting various beauty pageants.

Liz Da Silva:

Liz Dasilva on the otherhand is not exactly into clothes, but she recently opened a lingerie shop in Lagos, where she deals in male and female underwear.

Lizzy Anjorin:

Talented actress, Lizzy Anjorin moved from purchasing and selling ready-made caftans to launching her own fashion outfit called, “Peak Me Clothing.” Lizzy is one Nollywood practitioner, who can boast of owing a proper clothing line as she cuts, sews, designs and finishes the clothes by herself and staff.
