An alleged senior officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Chukwuneta Emmanuel,  has been arrested by police in Ondo State for charteing a vehicle, drugged the driver and escaped with the vehicle.


Vanguard gathered that the suspect approached the driver of a Toyota Sienna bus, Oluwaseun Johnson, at about 9a.m. at a Benin park in Akure, the Ondo State capital.

"He chartered it to take him to Asaba, the Delta State capital. When the driver of the bus, with number plates KRD 739 DQ, arrived Asaba, he checked into a hotel to spend the night and the suspect bought a beverage, spiked it and gave same to the driver to take before sleeping, after the long journey.

"The suspect then drove the vehicle to an unknown destination, while the driver was under the influence of the drug. The victim raised alarm when he woke up later to find his car gone.

"The matter was reported at the state Police Command in Akure and detectives tracked the suspect and arrested him in Anambra State," the paper reports.
