A 16-year-old girl, Aditi Sanghi has plunged 75ft to her death during a zip-line exercise at her college as her instructor father watched on.

She was sitting on the edge of the six-storey building helping other pupils fasten their harnesses, when she lost her balance and tumbled over the edge.

She had just finished her round and walked back to the terrace during the activity conducted by her father, Sunil Sanghi, at the International College for Girls (ICG) in Jaipur, India.

Aditi was watching another student coming down the zip line when she appeared to lose her footing and fall.

Horrifying footage shows one student zipping down from the terrace as Aditi tumbles to the ground some 75ft below as other students scream in horror.

Aditi, a second year BSc student, was rushed to the nearby Metro Mas hospital with serious head injuries and died later during treatment.

Aditi had trained under her father and would accompany him during practice sessions. After her demonstration, she had gone back to the terrace to help other students put on their harnesses.

Dr Rakhi Gupta, the registrar of the college, refused to blame anyone saying Aditi's father himself had witnessed the accident.

She said it was an 'accident' and pointed out that Aditi had not been on the zip line at the time.

Mukesh Chaudhary, a police officer handling the case, said he would question other witnesses who were with Aditi to find out how she fell to her death.
