Two prostitutes in Ogun State on Tuesday allegedly killed a idle aged man, Adeyinka Olayinka, who was their customer at a hotel.


According to a statement by the Ogun State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, the deceased was said to have contracted one Kudirat Raji, to sleep with him overnight, on agreement to pay N3,000 for her service.

Abimbola, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, explained that the deceased reneged on agreement between them, by paying Kudirat, also known as Angela, a sum of N1,000.

It was gathered that an argument ensued between the two while one Esther Basiru, a friend to Kudirat broke a bottle and stabbed Olayinka on the armpit to death.

The statement read, "Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim contracted Kudirat Raji to pass the night with him on an agreed amount, but the deceased reneged on their agreement which led to hot argument between them.

"While the argument was going on, Esther Basiru who is a friend to Angela broke a bottle and injured the deceased’s friend who was at the scene while Angela used the broken part of the bottle to stab the deceased on the armpit thereby cut one of his nerves, consequent upon which he bled to death.

"The Manager of the Hotel quickly alerted the Police and the DPO Ifo Division CSP Anthony Haruna led his men to the scene and promptly arrested the two suspects.

"The Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Iliyasu has ordered the transfer of the case to Homicide section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for discrete investigation and possible prosecution of the suspects.
