Drug overdose has been ruled after Coroner investigation as responsible for the death of Senator Isiaka Adeleke. The Coroner, Olusegun Ayilara, in his ruling on Tuesday said that the autopsy and toxicology reports showed there were no traces of poison in Adeleke’s body when he died on April 23, 2017.

"The high dose of sedatives and analgesics with the mode of administration caused aspiration which culminated in death," the coroner said.

In the course of the inquest, which was instituted by Osun State Governor, Mr Rauf Aregbesola, the inquest heard from several witnesses, including Mr. Alfred Aderibigbe, who treated the Senator the morning he died.
