Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON) has condoled the family and diverse fans of its staunch member, Tony ‘Ozimba’ Grey who transited on Monday April 10, 2017.

The Warri based music star who held the South-East and South-South parts of the country spell bound with his special fire brand music style called Ozimba, had popular hit songs  like Ije Udo, She’s my Love, My Message, Tribute to Marvin Gay, Come Back Love, etc

Speaking on the demise of the Delta born music star, Chief Tony Okoroji, Chairman COSON said, “Tony Grey was not just a staunch COSON member, he was a personal friend who gave me 100% support. Even though, I knew that he was ill, it is still devastating to hear that he is no more. While he was in hospital I called him on the phone several times and assured him that he would make it. Unfortunately, he did not. Tony Grey was a master of the big live band. His Ozimba band was one of the biggest in the country. Always jovial, he spread love around him. He loved the music profession and spent an entire life time practising the art he loved. Tony Grey will be terribly missed by those who knew him”

Also speaking on the demise of the music maestro, Mr. Chinedu Chukwuji, General Manager, COSON said Nigeria has once again lost an illustrious son and musician.

“Tony Grey was a very good man and one of COSON’s best members. The news of his death has shocked everyone at COSON. We mourn one of Nigeria’s great stars and we wish the family God’s abundant grace to bear this great loss” he said.

COSON Board member, Azeezat Allen said of Tony Grey, “the real definition of Warri, boisterous, humorous, fun to be with, hospitable. I commiserate with the family praying that his soul rests in perfect peace.
