Three female suicide bombers have been intercepted by members of the Civilian Joint Task Force. They had attempted to enter Mamanti village, Jere Local Government Area, of Borno state, around 5:00am on Monday.


One of the bombers, however, detonated an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) strapped to her body killing herself, while the other two were shot dead by security personnel on duty, while trying to escape, Channels reports.

A statement signed by the Commissioner of Police, Borno state command, Damian Chukwu, confirmed the attack.

He added that explosives experts and more security personnel have since been deployed in the area.

Three Civilians Dead

Shortly after that, another suicide bomb incident was reported to have occuured at Mainari Kanuri village along Damboa/Biu road, in the outskirt of Maiduguri town.

The suspected Boko Haram Terrorist who had disguised as a cart pusher, was intercepted by residents of the community at about 7:30am.

He was said to have detonated the IED on his cart, killing himself and three nearby civilians, while two others sustained injuries.

This was made known by the PPRO, Borno state, ASP Murtala Ibrahim.
