Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has said that
his government would continue to leverage on the experience, contributions and
support of relevant development partners and agencies to boost its economy.
Amosun stated this while hosting a delegation, consisting
teams from World Bank, Rural Access Mobility Programme (RAMP) and Federal
Ministry of Works, in his office yesterday.
The governor commended the efforts of the World Bank in
challenging the state to work on its rating on the ease of doing business,
which he noted, has made the state improve tremendously, by making it one of
the best rated state in ease of doing business in Nigeria.
While appreciating the support of the three development
partners in the development strides in the state, the governor assured that the
state government would not take the support for granted, but work towards
taking the advantages of value chains in agricultural development.
Amosun however emphasised the need for the various partners
to work towards improving on infrastructure that would help in developing
agricultural, rural development and other sectors.
Leader of the delegation and Senior Private, Sector
Development Specialist of the World Bank, Mrs. Feyi Boroffice had earlier said
that the team is partnering the state government to facilitate development in
agriculture, transportation and other sectors of the economy, to achieve
results.
Also speaking, the bank's Team Leader on Transportation, Mr
Tesfa Micheal noted that there is need to improve on the transportation
infrastructure, to boost economic and industrialisation potentials of the
state.
