A 17-year-old Georgia girl, Cassandra Bjorge and her boyfriend, Johnny Rider have officially been charged with murder in the slaying of her grandparents.

Cassandra Bjorge was booked into the Gwinnett County Detention Center on Wednesday for charges of murder and aggravated assault in the death of her grandparents, Randall and Wendy Bjorge, both aged 63.

Her boyfriend Johnny Rider had been in jail since Monday, for different charges related to beating up his sister and her boyfriend. Murder charges were added against Rider on Wednesday as well, Daily Mail reports.

The bodies of the Bjorges were found on Saturday, after Cassandra and her boyfriend beat up Rider's sister and her boyfriend in another bizarre attack.

After discovering the bodies, police tracked down the young couple to an apartment complex in Suwanee where they had a brief stand-off with cops and tried to kill themselves with a knife.

The couple were rushed to the hospital where they were treated for the self-inflicted stab wounds. Rider was discharged first, on Monday, and booked directly into prison. Bjorge was discharged two days later.

Police are still investigating what led the couple to murder the Bjorges, who were found with slash wounds to their throats, blunt force trauma and sharp force injuries
