The Senate has on Thursday approved the nomination of 45 non-career
ambassadors. However, two nominees were rejected, they are, Sylvanus Nsofor of
Imo State and Jacob Daodu of Ondo State.
The Senate disclosed Mr. Daodu was rejected, because his
Department of State Services (DSS) report was negative, calling him “deceitful”
and hinting that he had “indulged in corrupt practices” during his time as
chairman of road construction.
While Mr. Nsofor was rejected based on the Committee on
Foreign Affairs’ report.
