The Senate on Tuesday expressed concerned over the proposed closure of Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja for six weeks for repairs.

The senate is rather determined to explore all other possible options that can avert the planned total closure of a strategic National port for 6weeks.

As all the lawmakers, who contributed on the motion conveyed displeasure, they resolved to invite the Ministers of Transportation, State Aviation, Works, Power and Housing and FCT, Chief of Air staff and MD of FAAN, NAMA to meet with the Senate and provide details on the planned closure and explore other options that can avoid a total closure.

The Ministers should be invited to meet with the Senate in few days"
