The Gambian Chief Justice has declined to rule either way in a motion for an injunction restraining the swearing in or inauguration of Adama Barrow as President of the country on 19 January or any other date pending a determination of the election petition before the Supreme Court.

He says he can't decide for or against the application because he's the subject of it.

The motion sought to among other things stop him from swearing in the declared winner of the election. BBC reported.
