Originally written in French, Tram 83 was translated into English by Roland Glasser and published by Deep Vellum. 35-year-old Mujila is the first Francophone writer to win the prestigious Etisalat Prize, the first ever pan-African prize that celebrates debut fiction books by African authors.

A High Court in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State on Tuesday sentenced a school proprietor, Mr. Babatunde Ibitoye, to 10 years’ imprisonment after finding him guilty of raping a 10-year-old pupil of his school.
Ibitoye, the owner of God’s Grace Nursery and Primary School, located in the Agric Olope area of the state, committed the offence on June 10, 2013.
A woman, identified as Mary, has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly breaking her eight-year-old son’s head. The son, Samuel, was punished for leaving the house without permission and going to a neighbour’s place.
