NEMA Warns IDPs not to Sell Relief Materials

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has advised Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Adamawa not to sell relief materials donated to them by the agency and other donors.

Poet and novelist Fiston Mwanza Mujila was on Saturday, 19th March 2016 announced as the winner of the 2015 Etisalat Prize for Literature (http://Prize.Etisalat.com.ng) for his first novel, Tram 83. Originally written in French, Tram 83 was translated into English by Roland Glasser and published by Deep Vellum. 35-year-old Mujila is the first Francophone writer to win the prestigious Etisalat Prize, the first ever pan-African prize that celebrates debut fiction books by African authors.

School Proprietor Bags 10yrs imprisonment for Raping Pupil

A High Court in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State on Tuesday sentenced a school proprietor, Mr. Babatunde Ibitoye, to 10 years’ imprisonment after finding him guilty of raping a 10-year-old pupil of his school.

Ibitoye, the owner of God’s Grace Nursery and Primary School, located in the  Agric Olope area of the state, committed the offence on June 10, 2013.

A hijacked EgyptAir airliner has landed at Larnaca airport in Cyprus. Airline and Egyptian government sources are quoted as saying that the domestic flight travelling from Alexandria to Cairo was taken over by at least one armed hijacker.
