The Hilly town of
Owerre-Akokwa in Ideato North L.G.A of Imo state was jolted to its feet on
Thursday 1st December 2016, as Sir. Tony Ezenna, OFR, Ikenga
Akokwa buried his mother in-law, Ezinne Sussan Orji (nee Anudu.
Ezinne Sussan Orji
began her final on Wednesday November 30th, 2016 with a service of songs and
Christian wake-keep at her late husband’s country home, Umuokala-Obinato in
Owerre-Akokwa.
A requiem mass was
held for the devout Christian on Thursday December 1st at
St. David’s catholic church Owerre-Akokwa, officiated by Catholic
Arch Bishop of Owerri Arch Diocese – Arch Bishop Anthony Obinna and Bishop
Ukwuoma of Orlu diocese.
Attended by
relations and associates of Orji and Ezenna families, the funeral service was
heralded by a reception party at St. James Anglican church field Owerre
–Akokwa.
Sir. Tony Ezenna,
Ikenga Akokwa, Chairman Orange Group paid a condolence visit to the in-laws on
Friday 2nd December.
Expectedly some of
the friends and associates of Sir. Tony accompanied him, they included, Rt. Hon
Emeka Ihedioha, former Deputy Speaker, House of Reps, Hon Jones Onyeriri, Sir.

OKOLI, Opia of Umuopia, HRH Eze Don Opuruozo, Chief Jude Onyebuchi, Chief Ben Chinemelum, Ide of
Ozubulu, Chief John Udeagbala, HRE Eze Ambassador Damain Obianigwe, Chief Nnamdi Anyaehie, , Chief Chuma Nnaji, Chief
Martin Ejiogu, Hon. Arthur Egwim, Barr. Chijioke Nzekwe, Chief Celestine
Ebubeogu, Chief Samuel Ihionu, among others
During her life
time, the late Orji was selfless and forthright. She affected lives by bringing
smiles back to the faces of the downtrodden.
She was survived by
children, grandchildren, great-grand children, in-laws and host of other
relations among whom are Chief Mike Orji (Okosisi) son, Lady Elizabeth Ezenna,
daughter and Chief (Sir) Tony Ezenna, KSS, OFR, Chairman, Orange Group, son
in-law.
