Two Mobile Police Corporals attached to MOPOL 31, Ogwashi-Uku, has been arrested by Delta State Police Command over alleged involvement in the kidnap of one Efe Daniel Umukoro.

They were arrested by members of the State Anti-Kidnapping Committee at Abraka. Acting Police Public Relations Officer in the State, DSP Andrew Aniamaka, said the two police officers were arrested for misconduct and illegal duty.

Identifying the arrested police officers as Oreva and Edom, Aniamaka said the culprits were facing disciplinary action. He said the two officers were being tried by the Command, adding that if found guilty, they would be made to face the consequences of their action.

He said: “There is an alleged case of kidnapping, so we swung into action and arrested them and upon investigation, we discovered that it was a case of misconduct and illegal duty on the part of the officers.

"A disciplinary action, an orderly room trial, is already going on as we speak. They allegedly left their duty post and went to Abraka to effect an arrest based on complaints by one Edubra, that Umukoro Daniel Efe was owing him N50,000.

"The Divisional Police Station at Abraka was not even aware of the matter, which was in its domain. The police authority will not spare any member of the force who goes against the law."
