Few days after resumption of academic activities inLagos State Polytechnic (LASPOTECH), the disagreement between the academic and non-academic staff of the institution has rekindled.

Events took another turn when the Non – teaching staff comprising members from the LASPOTECH chapter of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Polytechnics, SSANIP, and Non – Academic Staff Union, NASU, stormed the Management Building and held the school management hostage for several hours on Tuesday, November 8, 2016.

The non-academic staff insisted that academic activities would be on hold and no member of the management would be allowed to leave the school premises until their demands were met.

The protest lasted few hours and no one was able to leave the school premises. The disagreement is due to the salary issues, which both the academic and non-academic staff and refused to agree.
