Super Eagles’ player, John Mikel Obi might be waving goodbye
to Chelsea FC come January 2017 as he has been offered a whopping $212,000-a-week
deal by Chinese club, Shanghai SIPG.
The offer was made to
the midfielder’s agent after Nigeria’s 3-1 win over Algeria in a 2018 World Cup
qualifier in Uyo, where he scored the second goal.
Shanghai SIPG is rated third in terms of wealth and revenue
in the Chinese league and the club is currently managed by former Chelsea
coach, Andre Villas-Boas.
Mikel Obi rejected a move to another Chinese club, Shanghai
Shenhua, last season
