Supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday marched to the INEC secretariat in Akure, Ondo State calling for a two-week postponement of the election. This is happening hours after Governor of the state, Olusegun Mimiko visited Presidential Villa, Abuja to meet with President Muhammadu Buhari on the coming governorship election.

The PDP supporters, who are throwing their weight on Mr Eyitayo Jegede of the Senator Ahmed Makarfi-led faction of the PDP, are calling for at least two weeks shift in the polls to allow the judiciary resolve the contentious issue of the party’s governorship candidate for the state.

They want Jegede as the party’s flag bearer instead of Jimoh Ibrahim fielded by INEC as the party’s governorship candidate in the election.
