It was an evening of
eventful gathering recently at Clear Essence California Spa & Wellness
Centre, Alexander Road, Ikoyi Lagos. Captains of industry, business moguls and
friends emptied there on Sunday, November 20, 2016, to felicitate with, and
celebrate one of their own, Chief Dr. Emma Bishop Okonkwo OFR, Chairman of
Ekulo Group of Companies, who was being honoured via a well-attended dinner
hosted by Bluefield Associate Incorporated USA in appreciation of the very
cordial business relationship between it and the Ekulo boss spanning a decade. Ekulo Group is the exclusive Distributor of
Clear Essence Cosmetics skin care products and skin care treatments specially
formulated for men and women of color.
Among the galaxy of
stars in the business and manufacturing turf that graced the dinner include
former Anambra state governor, Sir Peter Obi, Orange Drugs Boss, Sir. Tony
Ezenna, Senator Annie Okonkwo, MD of Greenlife Pharmaceuticals ,Ebere
Nwosu, Chief J.O Obijiaku of Middle Point Group, Chief Sam Okonkwo and Joseph
Momah of Fair Point Ltd, Jonathan Uzor Okafor and other senior Managers of
Ekulo Group.
The ambience of the
evening was laced with servings of assorted cuisine’s and choice wines to the
delight of invitees who had a fill of their choices. Applause, only
broken by nodding of heads in affirmation, enveloped the arena as
Bluefield Vice President, K.C Obioha took the floor to render
touching but enchanting tribute to Chief Dr. Emma Bishop Okonkwo. Mr. Obioha
extolled the Ekulo Chairman’s virtues-his integrity, honesty and dexterity in
business, especially as regards taking the Clear Essence brand to the next
level. He was of the view that Chief Dr. Emma Bishop Okonkwo OFR is among
manufacturers deserving honour from the Nigerian government.
Chief Dr. Emma
Bishop Okonkwo OFR in his vote of thanks expressed his profound gratitude to
Bluefield Associates Inc. USA for the honour. He was of the view that it
should have been Ekulo Group of Companies honouring Bluefield Associates for
availing it the opportunity to relate with them. It was therefore
gratifying and humbling that Bluefield Associates took the initiative. He
promised to continue espousing the tenets of hard work, integrity and
transparency for which Ekulo Group is noted in its relationship with Bluefield.
This relationship he stressed is clearly cherished and hoped it would out last
the present generation of directors of both companies.
Essentially, Emma
Bishop Okonkwo and Bluefield’s path crossed 10 years ago at the Airport when he
saw cartons of Maxi Tone, one of the company’s brands, on a trolley and made
efforts to find out the passenger checking on the goods and it turned out that
the owner of the consignment was K.C Obioha himself. It was from there that the
chemistry struck, blossoming into rock-solid business partnership between
Bluefield Associate Inc. and the Ekulo conglomerate. On the other hand, Bluefield Associates Inc,
USA. is headquartered in Ontario, California. Its flagship brand, Clear Essence
is a complete line of skin care formulation that is made to care for the skin
of men and women of colour-Asians, Africans and Hispanic.
There are also three
basic skin survival steps for maintenance of the skin: Cleanse, tone and
moisturize. Clear Essence offers three product lines for the survival steps:
The anti-aging line (formulated with rich blend of herbal extracts), the
Botanical line (for sensitive skin), and the men’s line (to control razor bumps
and uneven skin tone).
