Agitation at NASS, PDP Senators walk out of Chambers as Yale Omogunwa defects from PDP to APC

Senator, Yale Omogunwa of Ondo South has on Wednesday officially defected from Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to All Progressives Congress (APC). The defection caused commotion at the senate proceedings today, as PDP Senators walked out of the chambers immediately Senate President, Bukola Saraki read the letter informing his colleagues that he has moved.


APC Senator rose to their feet to welcome Senator Omogunwa to their fold, but they were greeted by noise from all angles from PDP Senators.

Senate Minority Leader raised a Point of Order correcting insinuations in the letter that PDP is divided, but more shouting followed.

Saraki ruled him out of order, Dino Melaye tried to raise a Point of Order which led to further arguments and agitation.


Following the agitation from both sides of the chamber, further arguments ensued and Senators of PDP walked out of the chambers.
