Themed, ‘Beyond Shoot, Expanding Distribution Opportunities for the Igbo Film’, the 6th Igbo Film Festival, a 3-day event set aside for the celebration and promotion of the films made in Igbo Language, Film Makers and Cinema culture will be hosted in Port Harcourt Rivers State on the 13th of November, 2016.


IGBO FILM FESTIVAL will x-ray and encourage Film makers at home and Diaspora in the creation and distribution of millions of dollars worth of indigenous film industry into one of the most vibrant and dynamic in the country. It will celebrate professional people who work both in front of the cameras and behind the scenes, a thorough entertaining and informative festival. The festival begins on Sunday 13th November 2016, at SILVERBLAZE GARDENS, Anglican bstop, Eze gbakagbaka rd, Woji, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

IGBO FILM FESTIVAL is a platform for the preview of new and old Igbo films, films exhibitions/market, workshops, master classes, awards.

PROGRAMME OUTLINE

DAY1: ARRIVAL & REGISTRATION OF DELEGATES, CULTURAL DISPLAYS, MUSIC, REDCARPET, AND PAPER PRESENTATION. Be sure not to miss our unique opening night ‘Nollywood Filmmakers all nite Party and Film show! Opening Film "CHETANNA" A FILM BY CHIGOZIE ATUANYA.

DAY2: FILM MAKER SESSIONS AND FILM SHOW

Filmmaker panels provide audience members and film-lovers the opportunity to learn from and directly engage some of the brightest independent filmmakers, Scholars, writers and actors from around the country. Interactive question and answer sessions, round-table discussions, and seminars explore the craft and creative process of cinema, as well as the business of making, financing, and distributing a film.

FILMS SCREENING ON DAY 2 NCLUDES - OBODO GBURU EZE, AMAONYE BUONYE, OFO NA OGU, NNEKA, AND CHUKWU ABIAMA

DAY 3: CLOSING CEREMONY: Cultural displays and dances will kick start the closing ceremony. Awards will be given in several categories including Feature, Documentary, and Short Film, Acting and Directing.
